The project conducted its seed round fundraising in March 2024, and actively entered the BTCFi niche in November 2024 with the launch of its USDa stablecoin. As of the time of writing in early February 2025, the platform is preparing for the launch of its native token, AVL.

USDa is Avalon’s Bitcoin-backed stablecoin, designed to help BTC holders put their funds to active use in the DeFi ecosystem. By providing Bitcoin-based collateral, borrowers can mint USDa, which is freely exchangeable with the USDT stablecoin at a 1:1 ratio. As such, USDa is indirectly pegged to the U.S. dollar via a fixed-rate USDT conversion mechanism.

CeDeFi Lending is a major component of Avalon Labs' focus on Bitcoin-backed loans. The project claims to have secured access to billions of dollars in USDT and 

 (USDC) funds at traditional finance institutions. This allows Avalon users to borrow funds in these popular stablecoins at fixed rates of 8 –10%. As of late January 2025, Avalon's CeDeFi lending component allows you to borrow USDT by providing collateral in Ignition FBTC (FBTC), a Bitcoin-pegged omnichain cryptocurrency. Other collateral and borrowing assets (e.g., USDC loans) might also be introduced in the future.

Avalon Labs’ DeFi lending component is represented by three main types of liquidity pools, against which users can lend and borrow assets. The BTC LSD Pools are made up of BTC and BTC-based liquid tokens, with each liquid token isolated to its own independently operating pool. There are also RWA Lending Pools, which consist of RWA tokens and stablecoins. The third type is the General Pool, containing mainstream assets like BTC, ETH, popular stablecoins and more.

The platform separates each asset, such as each liquid token or RWA, into its own isolated pool. Pool isolation helps structure risk mitigation measures carefully tailored to each asset.

For the first few months on the market, Avalon has operated without a native token. The project is currently gearing up for the introduction of its 

, AVL, to be launched sometime in Q1 2025. AVL will support not only governance but also a range of other functions. One of these is staking. By staking AVL, users will be issued sAVL, an asset that will be used directly for governance processes. sAVL holders will participate in votes to decide the rules and future direction of the platform. When the Loopy token’s price increased by over 763% in just 24 hours, it began receiving a lot of attention. The coin's market cap reached $17 million, and it was briefly one of the top Sui meme coins. Since its heyday, the Loopy token has had some struggles. Starting in January 2025, coin prices dropped to as low as $0.00000004 as its market cap plummeted. 

However, these unusually low prices have been just as noteworthy as the coin's ATH. Loopy fans who were getting priced out of owning the token have been expressing interest in it once again, due to its more affordable prices. The trading volume of Loopy might look a little low now, but it's no longer in free fall, as it was in early January 2025. Some market analysts even suggest that LOOPY’s price may reach 

LOOPY tokens have a high current circulating supply, but not all exchanges support this token yet. It's primarily available through smaller, decentralized exchanges. However, if you prefer a more convenient experience, check out the

However, don't forget that this sort of investment can be risky. Some meme coins generally fail to return to their ATHs after brief enthusiasm during their launches. Loopy's team hasn't been promoting their coin as much lately, so whether or not LOOPY can recover will rely mostly on the coin's fanbase. While investing a bit of extra money you have in LOOPY could be fun, it’s not recommended that you invest money you can’t afford to lose. Meme coins are always volatile, and it’s essential to use some caution and 

 any time you invest in tokens such as LOOPY.

While LOOPY tokens might not have the highest 24-hour trading volume anymore, this meme coin is still backed by a dedicated community. Its ability to appeal to

It’s challenging to stay on top of all the events and news influencing Bitcoin prices. The Bitcoin rally lost momentum in July when President Biden was replaced as the Democratic nominee on July 21, 2024, reducing the election odds for the crypto-friendly contender Trump. Polls indicate a close race between the Democrats and the perceived crypto-friendly Republicans, causing rising Bitcoin volatility.

Additional selling pressure from market makers and crypto funds was observed on Monday and Wednesday, adding to the liquidation concerns for Ethereum. Bitcoin Spot ETFs have seen continuous outflows, with no significant stablecoin inflows, raising alarm about the market's direction. Although stablecoin issuer Circle received $1.5 billion in inflows this week, it also had outflows of $1 billion the week before, resulting in only marginally stronger inflows overall. Without significant stablecoin inflow, Bitcoin and crypto markets are perhaps being driven purely by macro data points and the correlation with technology stocks.

Even if the hype around the carry trade fades, the downside risk for the Nasdaq remains, potentially affecting Bitcoin’s price due to increasing Bitcoin/Nasdaq correlations.

Additionally, the selection of Trump's candidate for vice president, who is perceived as anti–Big Tech, adds to the uncertainty. Political headwinds could impact tech stocks and the crypto tech sector. Economic uncertainty, inflation concerns and potential interest rate cuts will persist until September of this year.

On Tuesday, Bitcoin attempted a rebound but faced strong resistance at $56,000–$57,000, following the Bank of Japan's pause on rate hikes as it assured investors during its press conference. The potential downside risk for Nasdaq remains, and Bitcoin could see further declines.

Recent earnings reports from major U.S. tech companies have prompted investors to reassess their positions. Weak margins from companies like SMCI and Google's 5% decline in network advertising indicate economic strain. Additionally, weak U.S. consumer credit data, driven by negative credit card debt and soaring delinquencies, suggests a collapsing personal savings rate, impacting the fiat-to-crypto onramp.

Comparisons to the 2020–21 bull run should consider the absence of Covid stimulus checks, which previously fueled crypto trading. 

Historically, there’s a 44% chance of a U.S. recession in the first year of a new presidency, based on data collected since 1900, which could negatively impact stock prices and economic data. Despite declining consumer spending and advertisement revenue, the Fed's latest actions have signaled an acknowledgment of reduced inflation.

Upcoming vital events — including reports for the CPI on August 14, NVIDIA earnings on August 28, ISM

 on September 2 and labor market on September 6 — along with Fed Chair Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole on August 22–24 — will be critical in setting market expectations.

Traders are expected to closely monitor these events for signs of a potential price reversal, and to gauge the continuation of the Bitcoin bull market.
